Google's digital store, the Google Play Store provides music, games, and applications for Android phones. It was introduced in the latter half of 2011, as a replacement to the Apple App Store, and currently has more than two million applications available for download. The store is split into categories, such as Books, Movies & TV, Games, and apps. Developers can choose to submit their applications and make them available through Google Play for Android devices or the web. In addition to individual app listings, the store also includes "top charts" that show the most popular apps, games and films.
